Southpoint is a Church unlike any I’ve ever been a member of before! It truly has a laidback, casual atmosphere, the dress code is very casual, the Pastor wears jeans and an untucked shirt. They warmly greet you at the door with trays of Dunkin’ Donut Holes, coffee, juice, mints, pens and free CDs of previous services! On your first visit you are instructed NOT to put money in the offering plate! They want your visit to be a present which THEY GIVE TO YOU! The service begins with the most awesome praise and worship which I’ve seen since I moved to this area five years ago! The music is loud, the lights great and the music is Contemporary Christian. It really puts you in a position to receive from God. I love this part of the service so much that I can’t stand being late because I don’t want to miss one second of this worship experience!! Next comes an awesome message from Pastor Matt, who is an exciting speaker who uses the Scriptures and applies them to everyday life in this age we live in. His messages are always relevant. Afterwards, all are invited to the Lord’s Supper. A basket is passed around with small cups of grape juice with the wafer on top, making it very easy to use.. if I had one complaint it would be that I wished they gave more time to taking communion. They then have a quick rundown of announcements and a prayer. This is a Church for everyday people who love the Lord and for people who want to get to know the Lord. Everyone is welcome. The homeless, the unchurched, those seeking, those just passing through. It’s truly a Church where everyone is welcome!! If you don’t have nice clothes, or a stylish haircut, you’ll find it does not matter in the least! They are there to serve YOU, not to take from you! Young adults especially enjoy the music, but no matter why you come, you’ll be glad you came. It’s really just that good!!!!
