I got my DL renewed in under 20 minutes and lady @ kiosk 6 was very nice and this was 11:30am.
The employees up front are very nice and polite, but both examiners I had for the driving skills test were incredibly rude and condescending. It's a shame to have people in the car with nervous teenagers who barely answer their questions and treat them like garbage.
We just got done at the Loveville MVA to re-register the 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 as a historic vehicle. We made plans late in the afternoon and knew that we would be arriving about 20 minutes before closing. I thought I had grabbed the correct title from the safe and ran out of the house. Traffic held us up a little and we arrived at 4:17pm. A quick stop at the front counter and we had a number and an application. Within seconds our number was called and we proceeded to the desk where we apologized for not having had time to filled out the app. Within moments we discovered that we were even less prepared since in my haste I had grabbed the title for the Toyota "truck". Ugh! As my wife was apologizing and preparing to leave the attendant made the inclination that she could look up the requisite info. Completion of the app and payment was processed quickly and we departed with new historic license plates. We walked in at 4:17 and walked out at 4:24 - 7 minutes!
I wish I could give less than one star, but that's the minimum rating. I called ahead of time about having a title transferred to MD, with two people on the title. Specifically, I needed to know if it was okay if only one of us showed up. I was told that as long as we were both on the title, it was okay for one of us to come. I asked again, does the other person need to do ANYTHING? They said, no. Simple, right? Well of course when I went in, waited an hour, and was then told that the second person needed to sign paperwork as well as provide copies of their driver's license and proof of address, I was slightly annoyed. Um, what?? The second person in the matter does not live here, and has limited contact/connection at the moment. The supervisor pried into the details of that "situation", to which I told her that that was unrelated to the matter of titling the car. She even went on to suggest that I could "simply" go get a Power of Attorney or take the case to court back in the state that the car is registered and titled, or just remove myself from MY car's title. How would that help me? I tried to do everything I could to get my car titled in Maryland today and be legally responsible, but I guess I'll just have to chance it now when I am driving since my registration expires in a couple of weeks. THANKS MVA!!!
What an amazingly smooth experience, thank you Loveville MVA!
Service members in the building are phenomenal. However, my driver's license skills tester was mean and rude. Never have I been so nervous while driving for fear of being yelled at, AGAIN. Despite the negative attitude and shouting remarks, I passed.
